The Clarion Safety Advantage

  • ISO 9001:2015 Certified

As part of our ongoing commitment to quality, Clarion Safety is a registered ISO 9001:2015 certified manufacturer. That means that our ongoing and continually updated quality program meets the compliance requirements of ISO 9001 for process-based quality management systems.

This certification (Certificate Number FM 538081) covers Clarion Safety's design, manufacture, and distribution of visual safety system solutions (including safety labels, nameplates, signs and markings) for national and global markets.

It’s confirmation of our longstanding prioritization of continually improving our quality management systems to ensure our customer’s satisfaction in our products and services.
  • Best Practice Compliance

From OSHA, ANSI, and ISO to WEEE, RoHS, and REACH, Clarion Safety's products are designed to comply with the latest best practice standards as well as the specific regulatory requirements our clients need to meet.

But our commitment to best practices extends beyond our products and services alone. Since our founding, we’ve been directly involved in many of the main national and international standards organizations related to visual safety communication, product safety, and workplace safety. Our work includes standards leadership, authorship roles, and lobbying efforts - all aimed at advancing safety. Our team of experts is proud of our efforts to help advance best practice standards, as well as to keep our customers informed on how to practically apply them.
  • 3M Preferred Converter

At Clarion Safety, we understand the importance of safety label and sign durability. Labels, signs, and markings need to stand up to the expected environment, whether it’s exposure to UV, humidity, high temperatures, or chemicals. Potential accidents – and your company’s liability exposure – can depend on your material choices.

As part of 3M’s elite group of Preferred Converters, we offer an unmatched level of material quality and expertise – whether it’s for standard or custom options. Through this partnership, we’re able to provide you with the finest adhesives, base materials and overlaminates. When special applications call for something other than our superior grade standard materials, our long term relationship with 3M combines with our own wide breadth of experience, giving you the knowledge needed to find an effective solution.
  • UL Approved

Few companies go to the lengths we do to assure our clients that their label materials have the utmost in integrity. Clarion Safety has had its standardized label material constructions UL® approved. This ongoing program gives you the assurance that comes with official third party nationally recognized testing laboratory (NRTL) certification.

Our team of experts can help ensure that the UL-recognized label you use is UL-certified and stands up to the rigors of use. Clarion Safety is included in UL®'s approved Marking and Labeling Systems manufacturing category (PGDQ2). If you would like to learn more about the benefits of becoming UL listed, recognized, or certified, visit our information here.
  • ANSI Standards Leadership

Since 1992 and to present day, Clarion Safety has proudly had a seat at the leadership table for the ANSI Z535 - a key family of standards for presenting safety and accident prevention information. ANSI Z535 is the committee in charge of the U.S. standards for safety colors, signs, symbols, labels, tags, and safety information in manuals. In addition to being active members, over the years, we’ve also had many leadership roles (including serving as individual standards committee chairs, as well as our founder, Geoffrey Peckham, serving as chair of the main ANSI Z535 committee for nearly a decade), working side by side with other members, on change proposals has helped to shape revisions and best practices.

In 2020, Clarion Safety’s Angela Lambert was elected chair of ANSI Z535.1. When Geoffrey retired from ANSI and ISO in 2022, he passed the torch to Angela, allowing her to drive forward this important domestic and international safety committee work.

Currently in 2022, Clarion Safety experts serve ANSI as the chair of the ANSI Z535.1 Subcommittee, and as a member of the ANSI Z535 Committee.
  • UL Mark Certified

Clarion Safety is a UL® Mark certified printer. This means that we’ve signed an agreement with UL® that gives us the authorization needed to print the UL® Mark on your signs or labels if this is something you require.

How does the process work? If you’re a manufacturer of a UL® certified product, you must submit a design layout of the UL® Mark to a UL® label center for review to verify that all required information is in an acceptable format. You then provide us with your UL®-stamped and approved drawing and we can print the UL® Mark on your signs or labels.

  • ISO Standards Leadership

For decades, Clarion Safety has proudly had a seat at the leadership table for many important international, ISO efforts aimed at advancing standardization and best practices for visual safety communication. We were the principle author of the ISO standard for product safety labeling, ISO 3864-2.

In addition, our founder, Geoffrey Peckham, served as chair of ISO/TC 145 through 2022, the horizontal ISO technical committee that all other ISO committees must work through to standardize symbols. When Geoffrey retired from ANSI and ISO in 2022, he passed the torch to our head of standards compliance Angela Lambert, allowing her to drive forward this important domestic and international safety committee work. That includes the on-going process of standards revision and safety symbol registration through TC 145.

Currently in 2022, Clarion Safety experts serve ISO as members to U.S TAG to ISO/TC 145, U.S TAG to ISO/TC 283- ISO 45001, and as a liason representative for ISO/TC 145 to ISO/TC 283.
