Ken Hackworth, PE, FS Eng (TÜV Rheinland #12058/16)
Ken Hackworth is the Vice President of Safety Assessment at Machine Safety Specialists, a Clarion Safety Systems company. He has more than 30 years of experience in safety engineering, including the design and assessment of critical safety systems for automated industrial machinery, robotics, and industrial equipment.
Ken holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the Ohio State University and is a licensed Professional Engineer (PE). Additionally, Ken is a TÜV Certified Functional Safety Engineer, a member of the American Society of Safety Professionals (ASSP) and the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA). He is also a member of the ANSI B11 subcommittee.
Ken is a recognized expert in machine safety standards, including OSHA, ANSI, NFPA, RIA, and ISO/EN standards and regulations. He provides safety assessments for complex and high-risk industrial machinery and is the instructor for our industry-leading Machine Safety and Risk Assessment training course.
Ken has specified, designed, or commissioned more than 350 machine safety systems globally and provides safety system and compliance consulting services in the U.S. and internationally. As an experienced control system engineer, Ken enjoys working with clients to perform detailed reviews of machine safeguarding systems, ensure compliance with applicable safety standards, and improve workplace safety.
An active participant in the risk assessment education and industry standards for safety, Ken has presented at nationwide conferences and provided numerous educational materials to the safety community.
