Doug Nix
Doug Nix is a Managing Director at Compliance InSight Consulting, Inc., and the lead author/senior editor of the Machinery Safety 101 blog. He has over 30 years of industrial safety experience, specializing in machinery safety and risk assessment methods and processes. His experience also relates to certification, consulting, electrical products, and automation systems industries.
Doug’s work includes teaching machinery risk assessment techniques privately and through Conestoga College Institute of Technology and Advanced Learning in Kitchener, Ontario, as well as providing technical services and training programs to clients related to risk assessment, industrial machinery safety, safety-related control system integration and reliability, laser safety, and regulatory conformity.
He is a member of the Ontario Association of Certified Engineering Technicians and Technologists and the Institute for Electrical and Electronic Engineers. Doug serves on 11 CSA, IEC, and ISO technical committees related to his work. Doug is a consultant for our clients here at Clarion Safety Sytems and works with them to ensure advanced issues in compliance.
As well as being a regular consultant for Clarion Safety Systems customers, Doug has been a part of our InCompliance magazine interviews, as well as being the lead author of the Machinery Safety 101 blog, providing insight into the latest industry issues.
