Clarion Safety Systems: A Featured Expert on Visual Safety
Communications
Clarion Safety’s director of standards compliance, Angela Lambert, will be one of this year’s presenters,
with a session on on-product warnings best practices. “Failure to warn” and
“inadequate warnings” continue to top today’s product liability allegations.
Angela will present key elements of labels and instructions as defined by the latest ANSI Z535.4 and ISO 3864-2 standards, and noteworthy trends in
creating effective warnings for U.S. and international use. The discussion will
include the most recent standards updates that coincide with 2022 and late 2023/early
2024 republications, as well as risk management and label format options.
Angela’s background includes over fifteen years of experience in the field of
warnings and liability, including involvement at the leadership level in the
ANSI and ISO standards. She’s chair of ANSI Z535.1, the standard that focuses on
colors used in visual safety communication, as well as a delegate
representative to ANSI for the ISO/TC 145 SC2 WG 1 committee, responsible for
the library of ISO 7010 registered symbols and the ISO 3864 set of standards.
An Opportunity to Learn From all Sides of Product Safety
Other topics of discussion at this year’s conference will include:
- Risk Documentation
- Engineering and Human Factors
- Product Safety Management Systems
- Legal Responsibilities and Judicial Viewpoints
- Planning for Product Recalls
